The Moon has just way, way more water than we thought. As in 100 times more than we first thought when we found water there, meaning a zillion times more than we thought before we found water there (back then we thought there was zero water).
As the proper nerdy people in the audience know, finding water off of Earth is a gigantic boon to off-world colonization, as it would mean that one of the super-critical thing humans can’t do without might not have to be dragged with us to whichever rock we set our ships toward. Establishment of colonies on the lunar surface is looking much, much more likely. Richard Branson will be windsailing on the moon inside 25 years, mark my words.
